Costa Rica day 5

Today we went to the beach! I don't have any actual pictures of the beach because we didn't want to leave the phone on the shore, but I took some pictures on the way! We woke up too this little guy on Abinadi's pants. He was only about the length of a finger, but still pretty intimidating.z

Then we started out on our trip and ran across this guy! He was just chilling on the road.

The people in Costa Rica are good at finding a job to do. This guy was helping people park their cars and then would watch them while the people shopped. You are supposed to tip them. Every place you go, there is a guard for the cars....if you want them or not.

We got about halfway to the beach and dad told us to get out and walk across this bridge. We got out there and looked over and there was this bog group of crocodiles!! They were HUGE! I wish the picture gave some size comparison.

These two were easily 15 feet long, and the guy at the top was missing part of his top jaw. Insane!!

On the way back from snorkeling, we stopped at this little port beach that had black sand. It was funny, it looked like dirt and felt like sand.

My dad. Mom, I really like this picture.

Both of us got a bit of a sunburn and we think it was because we didn't reapply the sunblock as often as we should have. Lesson learned.

A few more volcano pictures

Costa Rica day 4

This day we drove to to the volcano Arenal. It was active for almost 50 years until it quit erupting in 2010. All around the base of the mountain are hot springs. We spent the day in all the various pools. Each was a different temperature. From cool to really warm. The hottest was 114°.

The plant is called the Christmas palm. Can you guess why??

So many pretty flowers and bushes!!

The top one is self explanatory. The bottom says you have to swear swimming suits. Funny.

The volcano is behind those clouds!!

Abinadi took the pictures of the volcano with his phone, so I'm going to have to grab them and put them on here.

This a guava pod. We ate all the guavas inside.
